I am totally new to deviant arts. I found this picture when I was searching for photos from Sherlock to put together in a collage birthday card for my daughter. It was going to be a one-off, not for sale, in fact my daughter would probably just have read it and thrown it out.
Still. It's so sweet and beautiful and moving, I'd like to buy it for her, if it's for sale and affordable.
Please forgive me if deviant art is not for vendors, and please don't be angry. If you all don't sell your work here, know that I meant no harm. I just love this picture. It captures Sherlock perfectly, and though I don't know if he would do anything like this in "real life" (wbez or netz) his expression looks so much how I'd imagine him in a soft, downcase, almost grieving mood.
I opened an account here over a decade ago and my name is aishacatcat. Not a bad name. I might use it if I opened an account today.
I see no one has commented for years. Oh well. It's still a beautiful and moving piece of art, and I feel better for having run into it.
Also my daughter has a more active account. She has about fifteen stiils from a gif of Sherlock and John that looks a bit like the same style, though it's more cartoonish.
I love how you've portrayed Sherlock's fragile state here. Not quite sure if that's what you were going for, but that's how it spoke out to me. That slight smile, slight frown, on John's face, too, makes me wonder what the character is thinking. Very nicely done - well done!!
Wow. This just totally inspired an idea for a fanfiction. Really, it did . . . does. Definitely one of the most realistic portrayals of these two I've seen. Awesome job and I LOVE the colors . . . subdued, but not dark . . . rather like in the show itself. I'd love to link to this picture when said fanfiction is done if okay?
Have you ever read Alone On The Water by MadLori on fanfiction.net? If you haven't, I strongly recommend you do. It's a really good story but what's more is that this beautiful fanart fits the story perfectly(:
